 in the XXIX INTERNATIONAL SALT SYMPOSIUM

QUO VADIS SAL 2025

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Polish Salt Mining Association (PSMA), along with the Inowrocław Salt Mines SOLINO S.A., cordially invite you to participate in the XXIX International Salt Symposium “Quo Vadis Sal,” which will take place on 15–17 October 2025 at the historic Hotel Pod Orłem, 14 Gdańska Street, Bydgoszcz.

 

Title of the Symposium: 

Polish white gold: from salt shakers to energy storage – the role of salt industry in the 21 st century

I. Symposium Topics

Leading topics:

  • Cavern energy storage strategic security of energy media in the context of energy crises and transformation:
    hydrocarbon storage;
    underground hydrogen and air storage;
  • salt complexes as nuclear waste storage sites;
  • competitiveness, innovation, and new directions of development
  • potassium-magnesium and rock salts – prospects for extraction and processing.

Supplementary issues:

  • Critical elements in salt formations – raw material potential of Europe;
  • Modern methods of recognising and exploiting salt deposits;
  • Environmental and geomechanical challenges;
  • European salt routes – history, tourism, heritage;
  • Current legislative changes in the management of salt resources.

 II. Presentation Formats:

  • Conference Paper (up to 15 minutes + discussion)
  • Announcement (up to 5 minutes)
  • Poster (119 x 84 cm; A-0 format)

 

Presentations should be prepared and submitted as extended abstracts (3-5 pages with illustrations, text in Microsoft Word, 12, without formatting) or complete articles, strictly according to the instructions for authors available on the PSMA website under the “Salt Review” tab, and sent to:

  • Extended Abstract (3–5 pages with figures; .doc or .docx file, 12-point font, no additional formatting)

or

  • Full Scientific Article prepared in accordance with the editorial guidelines available on the PSGS website, under the "Przegląd Solny" section

Articles and abstracts (as short papers) will be published in the Salt Review 2025. Salt Review 2025.

Important Dates:

by 30 June 2025

Submission of a paper (title of the paper);

by 31 July 2025

Submission of the title and abstract of the paper to “Salt Review 2025”;

by 31 August 2025

Submitting the full text of the article to "Przegląd Solny 2025"

by 10 September 2025

Submitting a short paper (summary of the speech for the materials)

by 15 September 2025

Deadline for registration and payment of the conference fee

 

IV. Symposium Fees

  • 2000 zł standard fee;
  • 1300 zł for PSGS members (with paid contributions up to and including 2025);
  • 700 for students, PhD students and retirees (professionally inactive) and PSGS members awarded the Golden Badge of the Association.

 

Speakers presenting a paper are entitled to a discount of 400 PLN from the standard conference fee (for co-authored papers, the discount applies to only one person).
The discount does not apply to participants paying the 700 PLN conference fee.

3 lunches and 2 dinners as well as a field trip.
