IX Symposium Quo Vadis Sal 2004 – Rational ways of using salt deposits

On November 25-26, 2004, the 9th Salt Symposium "Quo Vadis Sal" was held in the Warzyn Chamber in the Salt Mine in Bochnia. The organizer of the Symposium was the Polish Salt Mining Association, and the host of the meeting was the Bochnia Salt Mine. The symposium was held under the patronage of the Minister of Economy and Labour. Conference theme:

Rational ways of using salt deposits.

The Symposium was attended by 60 people from Poland and abroad. The meeting was devoted to discussing the use of salt deposits for sanatorium and tourist purposes in Bochnia and Kłodawa and for underground hydrocarbon storage facilities in Mogilno and Góra. New methods of geological research in tectonic issues, bromine and radiometric stratification as well as a description of rock mass movement in the vicinity of historic salt mines are also presented.
