XX International Salt Symposium "Quo Vadis Sal"was held on October 7-10, 2015 in the Bochnia Salt Mine

Leading theme: SALT MINING: ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERSPECTIVES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

The theme of the Symposium included the following issues:

  • Salt mining workings after extraction: facilities for recreation and education, hazards, protection methods, and post-extraction uses.
  • Salt resources in Poland and the methods of their use:
    1. Rock salts;
    2. Potassium-magnesium salts.
  • Progress in the recognition of salt deposit structures.
  • Cavern storage facilities as elements of common European energy policy.
  • Current technical, legal and environmental issues of salt mining.

The organizer of the Symposium was the Polish Association of Salt Mining and Salt Mining in Bochnia

The conference was co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
